Mr. Chandler

img-thumbnailHello, hola, and aloha! My name is Esraiel Chandler, I was born in Los Angeles, California to a Mexican Orphan mother, and a Black African American father. I am a United States Navy Veteran, and First Generation College Graduate. I have an Associate of Science in General Studies, Bachelors of Science in Business, and Master's in Education. I have eight years of experience serving the Veteran community as a Veterans Advocate with the California Department of Veterans Affairs. I decided to pursue a career in school counseling because of how the term emotional intelligence impacted my mindset and reminded me of my adolescent experience in school recalling the challenges I had with self-regulating my emotions, using my voice, and making positive decisions aligned with my true self. For example, I would always keep my emotions stored inside rather than expressing how I truly felt when I was bullied in school, and when I was having challenges in understanding English material. I hope to be able to help and support kids who may be experiencing similar struggles to build resiliency and self-advocacy skills.
